The PK Group, based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, operates in the public, commercial, industrial and private sectors providing services encompassing
electrical contracting, installations, maintenance and repairs
fire services (alarm systems, emergency lighting, risk assessments etc) and
general building services & maintenance.
1999 – The PK Group started out as PK Electrical to provide quality electrical installation, testing and maintenance services to all kinds of domestic and commercial users.
2001 – The business gained membership to NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contractors) along with UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Services) accreditation.
2003 – PK Electrical secured a partnership agreement with Bolsover District Council
2005 – a partnership agreement followed with Mansfield District Council to test, upgrade and, where necessary, re-wire council dwellings as part of the Decent Homes Standard.
Over the years the company grew to provide specialist Fire Services, including alarm systems and emergency lighting. The company’s client base expanded to include the public, commercial, industrial and private sectors.
2009 – PK Electrical Supplies Ltd formed to initially work alongside PK Electrical. PK Electrical Supplies Ltd has now been developed into a standalone Supplies company for the Group.
April 2010 - The company moved to brand new premises at Sheepbridge, Chesterfield, incorporating larger office space, large reception and showroom area and ample storage space, better accommodating the company’s needs.
2010 – PK Fire Services formed to handle the increase in the number of specialist Fire Alarm installations being undertaken by PK Electrical.
2010 – PK Group founded to provide an umbrella organisation for all of the PK companies.
2011 - PK Group successfully gained ISO 9001 accreditation.
2011 – Accepted as a member of the REAL (Renewable Energy Assurance Limited) Scheme.
2011 – Assessed as an MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) Approved Installer
2012 – PK Group became Gas Safe Registered to allow the company to carry out domestic gas and heating installations, servicing and repairs.
2012 – Constructionline registration and membership secured.
2012 –CHAS, (Contractors Health and Safety) Assessment Scheme accreditation secured.
2012 –Membership granted to APM, the Association for Project Management.
The Future – In preparation for the government’s ‘Green Deal’ and ‘ECO’ initiatives, the PK Group is now concentrating on achieving PAS 2030: 2012 – “Improving the energy efficiency of existing buildings. Specification for installation process, process management and service provision”. The intention is for the group to be Green Deal Accredited Assessors and Installers.
